the pilates studio
Take your Pilates practice to the next level by working one on one with classically trained and certified instructor, Laura Lampert. Here you will work on the reformer and tower to get a deeper understanding of the work, and enhance your workout.
The Reformer is the centerpiece of the Pilates method
It is a dynamic piece of apparatus designed to build strength, flexibility, and control through resistance-based movement. Its spring-based resistance system promotes uniform development of muscles, emphasizing core engagement, proper alignment, and full-body integration. Every movement on the Reformer is deliberate and rooted in the classical sequence, which ensures flow, breath, and precision, which are key tenets of the Pilates method.
Our unique apparatus also features the tower unit. The Tower is a vertical apparatus that provides a versatile, spring-based system for resistance training, allowing you to work with gravity and spring tension to build strength, flexibility, and control.
Rooted in Joseph Pilates’ original work, the Tower incorporates elements of the Cadillac but in a more compact, space-efficient form. We use it to deeply challenge the powerhouse, especially the core, glutes, and spine, while promoting alignment and precision in movement.
Laura has been teaching Pilates since 2002, and has completed her 600 hour comprehensive certification through Power Pilates. She joins us from New York City.
